BCI basketball tournaments help youth improve athletic excellence, provide educational opportunity, develop leadership skills, build self-confidence, experience teamwork and have fun.

First and foremost, BCI believes in every player and every player plays in our national tournaments. That helps build confidence on the court.

Second, we take our standard of conduct for coaches, players, parents and families of players seriously. The atmosphere in which young people are surrounded should be a positive sportsmanship environment.

Third, BCI upholds a Safekids Program. BCI makes every reasonable effort to ensure that every person involved in coaching/training are clear of any child abuse/molestation history or any other record that would bring unnecessary risk to the health and safety of the participants.

BCI sets the goal high for youth basketball play. We hope you will find our tournaments second to none.

NCAA sanctioned event

BCI is pleased to announce the 2010 BCI 40th Anniversary National Tournament. This very special tournament is an NCAA sanctioned event. The tournament includes a 4 game guarantee. This event is open to grades 4-12.

Online Registration requires players and coaches information. You can update your information any time and will be saved for you to register for all other BCI tournaments.

The girls tournament will be held in Tulsa, OK on July 27 - 30. Each player will receive two game tickets to see the Tulsa Shock WNBA team. Opening ceremonies will be conducted at half time of the Tulsa Shock game on July 27. Closing ceremonies and back court passes for autographs will be held at the Tulsa Shock game on July 30. This will be an experience you won't want to miss!

The boys tournament will be held in Oklahoma City, OK on July 29 - August 1. Opening ceremonies will include a pizza party and special guest appearance by a legendary coaching figure. Don't miss out on the opportunity to be recorded in the history books for this historic tournament experience!

BCI Tournaments

In 1970 thirteen boy’s teams participated in the first ever BCI tournament. Since that time over 40 states have been represented in BCI tournaments in addition to teams from five provinces of Canada and Mexico as well as Austria and Scotland. BCI has established an excellent reputation for strong competition, first class facilities and best organized tournaments in the country. BCI means quality. Just ask the more than 10,000 teams that have participated in BCI tournaments. BCI Summer Nationals are NCAA sanctioned tournaments for players fourteen years and older. This sanctioning provides opportunity for players to be seen by division one college coaches, not to mention all the other college coaches and scouts represented at BCI Summer Nationals.

More than 150 players who came up through the ranks of BCI now play or have played in the National Basketball Association. Over 13% of current NBA players are former BCI graduates, including such standouts as Charles Barkley, Karl Malone, Mike Bibby, Gary Payton, and Kenny Anderson.

With the addition of the WNBA, such former BCI players as Lisa Leslie, Angela Aycock, Niesa Johnson, Lynn Pride, Tamisha Jackson, and Tamika Catchings are now playing at the next level.

Basketball Congress International, also known as BCI, has been providing tournaments to youth teams grades 4-12 since 1970. As the second oldest tournament organization in the country, BCI knows tournaments. With over 150 alumni players that have gone on to the NBA/WNBA BCI is about exposure to help you get to the next level. This blog is all about youth basketball tournaments. This blog will provide you with information about BCI Nationals, rules, NCAA sanctioning, exposure and other information. Look for our next post on NCAA sanctioning.

First and foremost, BCI believes in every player. That is why we have stated in our rules that every player plays. Being on a team is not enough. BCI believes that all players make up the team and all players should play. Being at a national tournament and receiving playing time can make a major impact in a player’s personal confidence.
